Prometheus and Pandora
Prometheus was a Titan god. He wanted to show humans fire and teach them how to use it.
So he stole some fire from Zeus, the father of all gods. Zeus was very angry, so he punished Prometheus by chaining him to a huge rock and having a large bird eat his liver. Every day his liver would grow back and the bird would return to eat it again.
Zeus was still angry, so he sent Pandora to humans. She was the first woman and she was very beautiful. Pandora had a box she was not supposed to open. Pandora really wanted to open it really badly, more than anything in the world.
One day she thought, one little peek wouldn't hurt. So she opened it and the whole room was quiet and whoosh! Pandora fell back and a black cloud poured out of the box that contained all the bad things in the world: sickness, suffering, greed, war, and all kinds of evil.
She closed the lid and only one thing did not escape from the box. It was beautiful and it was called Hope.
