Watch the following video on making a bracelet out of safety pins.

Hey everyone, so today I'm going to be showing you how to make some awesome DIY bracelets using some really unexpected materials.
They're surprisingly super easy to make and look really pretty layered with other bracelets for an arm party or arm stack or arm candy, whatever you want to call it.
What you'll need for this DIY project:
A pair of scissors,
some little glass beads. You can do whatever color combination, however many colors you want. I just did gold and black, but feel free to get creative with it. And also they come in different sizes, so the ones that I ended up using and that worked best for me were the 11-0.
In addition, these beads as well as all the other items in this video can be purchased at your local craft store. So the one that I went to was Michael's.
Then you'll need some elastic string. The kind that I used was black and one millimeter wide.
And finally, you'll need some safety pins. So you can either do gold or silver. I personally did gold because my bracelet had gold and black beads. And also don't forget that the taller you want your bracelet to be, the taller or bigger the safety pins should be since you're stacking more beads on top of them.
So our first step is to measure out our string. So as you can see here, I'm measuring out the circumference of my wrist and to that I'm adding about six inches. I actually added a little bit more just for any mistake room and just to be safe with it.
So just cut that piece,
and measure and cut out a second one just like it.
Then you want to take the ends of one side and tie them together into a knot. And this doesn't have to be perfect yet or anything, we'll make sure that when we're officially done the bracelet and tying it together.
So then grab your safety pins,
and drag over your beads. A little tip is using a lens cap to move them all because they are so little and kind of tend to go everywhere.
Open up your safety pin and start putting the beads onto the open needle part of the pin.
If you're careful with it, you shouldn't be stabbing yourself as you're doing it, just kind of delicately sliding the beads on there.
So once you're done, I ended up putting about seven beads on each of the pins, all you want to do is close the pin back up.
So as I was beading my pins, I found that the best method was to kind of press my finger onto the beads so that they would stick on and from there kind of tap the end of the needle to the edge of the bead so that the beads actually just slide right onto the needle from my finger.
And continue pinning all of your beads. I ended up having about 80 in my whole entire bracelet.
Once you're finished with all of that, all you have to do is take the elastic string that we tied earlier and separate the two ends of it and basically pull the string through the two holes that are already at the end of the safety pin and basically pull the safety pin all the way through to the end of the bracelet.
And there are two things that you always have to remember while you're pulling the pins through the string to make the bracelet. So the first one is the beads always have to be facing forward, so make sure they're never facing the back of the bracelet. And then the second one is you always need to alternate which way the pins are going. So as you can tell with the black bead pin, the wider part of the pin is on the top string, but on the gold one the wider part is on the bottom string.
So just continue pulling those safety pins through and through and through and through and through and through until you're left with a pretty bracelet like this.
Once you have something that looks like this, all you have to do is double knot or even triple knot each side of the bracelet so that everything is nice and secure.
And then take both of the sides and tie those together in a double or triple knot so that the bracelet comes together.
Once that's all finished, you can cut off the excess string and voila, you have your very own DIY safety pin bracelet.
