Apps: Do you know what you want to eat, Evan?

Evan: Well, I wanted a grilled cheese sandwich, but...

Sparkles: What's wrong, Evan?

Stacks: Yeah, I thought you loved grilled cheese.

Evan: I do, but Mom and Dad want me to order it all by myself.

Wobbles: By yourself? That sounds hard!

Sparkles: It's not hard, Wobbles.

Apps: Sparkles is right. It's good to be able to order by yourself.

Evan: I know, but what if I mess up? I've never ordered my own food before.

Wobbles: And what if our server is mean?

Stacks: Don't be silly, Wobbles. It's a server's job to be nice and take your order.

Evan: But how should I do it?

Apps: Why don't we ask Mr. Know-It-All? I'm sure he'll know.

Apps: Great idea, Sparkles!

Song: I do, we do, you do, Wonkidos!

Evan: Hi, Mr. Know-It-All!

Mr. Know-It-All: Hi, everyone! How can I help you today?

Apps: We need to know how to order our food when the server comes.

Mr. Know-It-All: No problem! Just let me do a quick search. Type, type, type. And here we go!

Mr. Know-It-All: Now, the first thing you should know is that it's important to make eye contact when you talk to your server.

Evan: Oh, right! Eye contact is when you're looking at someone's eyes and you're talking to them.

Mr. Know-It-All: Correct, Evan! Then just tell the server what it is you'd like to eat.

Evan: But what if I get nervous and forget?

Mr. Know-It-All: Good question! Most of the time, your menu will have pictures to help you make a decision and remember it.

Evan: Cool! I know I want a grilled cheese sandwich, but I don't see it on the menu.

Apps: Can you help Evan find the grilled cheese sandwich?

Apps: Tech-riffic! Let's look at the pictures on this menu. Which one of these looks like a grilled cheese sandwich?

Apps: Right there! That's right! This is the grilled cheese sandwich.

Mr. Know-It-All: Now that we know what you want to eat, we can practice placing your order. Is everyone ready?

All: Yeah!

Song: First I'll do it, then we'll do it, then you'll do it. That's how Wonkidos learn.

Then you'll do it by yourself and see. That's how we learn to do things. Yippee!

Mr. Know-It-All: Step one is to greet your server. I'll pretend to be him.

Mr. Know-It-All: Hello, my name is Mr. Know-It-All, and I'll be your server today.

Mr. Know-It-All: After I say hello to you, you say hello back. Remember to make eye contact!

Evan: Hi, I'm Evan, and these are the Wonkidos.

Apps: Hello!

Wobbles: Hi!

Sparkles: Nice to meet you!

Stacks: I'm hungry!

Mr. Know-It-All: Step two is to tell your server what you'd like to eat when they ask for your order.

Mr. Know-It-All: Can I take your order?

Evan: Sure! I'd like a... um... I forget.

Sparkles: Don't worry, Evan. We'll go first while you look at the menu again.

Sparkles: I'd like a bowl of soup, please!

Stacks: I'll take the grilled chicken. Can I substitute the baked potato for a salad? Dressing on the side, with extra tomatoes?

Apps: I'd like the veggie quesadilla, please!

Wobbles: Can I have a...

Mr. Know-It-All: Ha ha! A hamburger it is!

Stacks: Mmm, Wobbles looks good enough to eat!

Mr. Know-It-All: Evan, are you ready to order now?

Evan: Yes, I am! May I have a grilled cheese sandwich, please?

Mr. Know-It-All: You sure can!

Mr. Know-It-All: Step three is to say thank you to your server for taking your order.

Evan: Thank you!

Mr. Know-It-All: You're welcome!

Mr. Know-It-All: It's also important to remember who your server is, so you can ask them for help if you need something else.

Sparkles: I always try to remember the names and faces of people I meet.

Sparkles: Can you help Evan remember who his server is?

Vanessa: Okay, and what would you like to drink?

Evan: Um... an apple juice.

Vanessa: You got it! One grilled cheese sandwich and an apple juice coming up.

Evan: Thank you!

Vanessa: You're welcome!

Mr. Know-It-All: Great job, everyone! That was perfect!

Sparkles: Yay!

Wobbles: You're awesome at ordering!
