Video Transcript

Narrator: Meet the youngest snooker record holder the sport has ever seen.

This is Jude Owens from the UK, a young snooker fan who's already showing an incredible natural ability.

Luke: Jude first hit a snooker ball when he was two and a half, but recently I did find a video of him hitting a pool ball just before his second birthday.

Narrator: At just two years and 261 days old, Jude became the youngest person ever to make a snooker double pot in Manchester, United Kingdom on the 1st of September 2025.

Yes, just two years old. Jude was introduced to snooker and pool by his dad, Luke, who gave him a mini snooker table to play on, and it quickly became clear that Jude had something special.

After mastering the smaller table, he was introduced to full adult-sized tables, and he adapted with ease, apart from needing a stool to reach the table.

Luke: I'd like to think it's in the genes, but obviously Jude started a lot younger than me. I started playing when I was 10, and obviously Jude started playing when he was two, but I'd say Jude's got a lot more natural ability than myself.

Narrator: Jude is already demonstrating techniques that many experienced players spend years developing, including floating bridge shots and potting using the rest.

But Jude's development hasn't stopped there. On the 12th of October 2025, at just two years and 382 days old, he became the youngest person ever to make a pool bank shot, once again in Manchester.

Luke: Jude's achieved quite a lot in such a short space of time, but for me to achieve not just one but two world records is probably the pinnacle moment. Like, how do you even beat that in life?

Narrator: His talent has already earned special recognition. Jude was given a special walkout entrance at the 2025 UK Snooker Championship, and he is now the youngest known person ever to receive a snooker sponsorship.

Luke: Recently we had a trip to York and we met up with Kyren Wilson and John Parrott, and that was the first time they'd seen him in the flesh. And a few of his shots were really impressive, they said.

He's also met Jimmy White. Jimmy White done a little video to say that he's a big fan and he's looked at a lot of his videos and he's really impressed.

Narrator: Away from the table, Jude enjoys watching the Octonauts, supports Manchester United, and finishes his day with a 6:15 PM bedtime.

Luke: As a father, you'd always hope that your kids do well in life, so you know, that'll be the biggest aspiration. If he's to achieve that, will he be a world champion? I mean, it'd be a great story with all the evidence we've got going forward.

Narrator: From a mini table to major achievements, Jude Owens is showing just how powerful early passion and support can be. Remember the name.

Luke: Who would win a snooker match, me or you?

Jude: Me.

Luke: No, me!

Jude: No, me!

Luke: No, me!

Jude: No, me!
